During a recent interview on JalenTV, Birdman took a moment to reminisce about his initial encounter with Drake. He expressed his belief that Drake possessed a distinctiveness in his lyrics and vocal talents, which he believed would propel him to legendary status in the world of hip-hop. As time has shown, Birdman's foresight was indeed accurate.
While speaking to Jalen Rose, Birdman explained, “Wayne brought the music to me. Wayne asked me what I thought about it. I’m like, ‘I think that n**** dope, man. That n**** bad.’”
Birdman continued, “We ain’t never of heard no s*** like that. That n**** had them long words and added that singing flow. Like, we ain’t never heard no sh*t like that in hip hop.” From there, Birdman revealed what he told the Canadian superstar. “First time I met him I told him he gonna be a legend. He was like, ‘For real?’ I’m like ‘Yeah, Drake. You gonna be a f*****g legend in this game.’ Cuz the Hip Hop ain’t heard nothing like that,” said the Cash Money mogul. Watch above.
