Alec Baldwin, actor and co-producer of the movie 'Rust,' has entered a plea of not guilty to the involuntary manslaughter charge in connection with the shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The tragic incident occurred during a rehearsal in October 2021 on the movie set in New Mexico.
During the rehearsal, Baldwin was pointing a gun at Hutchins when it unexpectedly discharged. Unfortunately, the shot proved fatal for Hutchins and also wounded the movie's director. It is important to note that the gun should have never contained live rounds, which raises questions about the safety protocols followed on the set.
The news of Baldwin's plea comes just a day before his scheduled arraignment remotely via video conference. This high-profile case has drawn significant attention due to Baldwin's celebrity status and the broader implications it raises regarding gun safety in the film industry.
