Yung Joc weighed in on the divisive idea raised by Dr. Umar that Eminem can never be considered the greatest of all time (GOAT) due to his race. Yung Joc disagreed with the idea that race should be a factor, explaining that Eminem could very well be termed the greatest of our time (GOOT). Despite acknowledging Eminem's exceptional talents and noting that he, too, has faced hardship and oppression, Joc stopped short of declaring him the greatest ever. His hesitancy largely hinged on Eminem's impact on the culture of hip-hop and his far-reaching influence. Joc shed light on the disconnect between Eminem's hurtful lyrics about his family, which is uncommon among Black rappers, and the culture of hip hop, concluding that Eminem may not have influenced aspiring artists as deeply as other trailblazers.
