Robert Ladd revealed that there was a miscommunication between the Las Vegas PD and Compton PD following Tupac Shakur's murder. The two departments failed to share critical information due to concerns about potential leaks. As a result, a key opportunity to intercept the car returning from Las Vegas to LA, which law enforcement believed had been involved in the killing, was missed because Compton PD was not aware that they should be looking for a white Cadillac. Shortly after Shakur's death, informants began contacting Compton PD, saying Orlando Anderson, aka "Baby Lane," had been the shooter and was bragging about it upon his return to Compton. Furthermore, they named the other passengers in the car. However, the white Cadillac in question was never found.
