According to Billboard, a judge denied the singer's request to dismiss her sexual harassment lawsuit filed by three of her former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez.

Some of the accusations, like fat-shaming claims, have been dismissed but the entire case will proceed to trial. Lizzo pushed for dismissal of the case under California's anti-SLAPP statute, arguing that it was an attempt to silence her.

However, Judge Mark H. Epstein declared the statute did not apply in this situation. He emphasized the importance of addressing allegations of discrimination and misconduct, even in a speech-related environment. This decision aligns with the opposition filing submitted by the dancers' legal team in November, which argued that Lizzo should not be shielded from legal consequences for the allegations against her.
