Dr. Dre's absence from his fellow N.W.A. members in Los Angeles this past Saturday to accept a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the Grammys was quite noticeable. Nevertheless, Ice Cube provided an explanation for the iconic rapper's non-attendance. Cube addressed the audience, stating, My man, Dr. Dre, is not here. He wanted to make sure I let you know he's not hating. He a billionaire. He got s*** to do."

Cube then shouted out Dr. Dre for his exceptional “brilliance, talent, and leadership” qualities.

Ice Cube also spoke on how N.W.A. didn’t think they would receive the award, saying: “We knew when we started to do music in 1985, '86, '87 that a Grammy was not in the cards for us, with the type of music we was doing. We actually didn't think we would ever even get on the radio. We was cool with that.” Watch above.
