In a recent interview on Willie D's podcast, Treach of Naughty by Nature was asked why Tupac Shakur did not have his bulletproof vest on the night he was shot. Treach responded by saying that 2Pac was hard-headed for not wearing it and that he should have been more cautious by traveling in a car with tinted windows and not being in the front seat. In response to the interview, Reggie Wright Jr expressed his thoughts about Treach's comments.
In his interview, Treach pointed out that he had witnessed 2Pac wearing a bulletproof vest multiple times, including when he was with 2Pac. He mentioned that after 2Pac was shot in New York, he learned the importance of wearing a vest and started wearing one every day. However, he acknowledged that 2Pac had his reasons for not wearing it on the fateful night in Las Vegas.
Reggie Wright Jr then emphasized that people should not judge 2{ac and spread false narratives about him not wearing a vest. He explained that it was extremely hot that night, possibly around 100 degrees, and people in Vegas generally did not wear vests. He also added that 2Pac had recently been involved in an incident at the MGM, which Treach acknowledged in the interview, suggesting that 2Pac should have taken more precautions to protect himself.
While Wright Jr acknowledged Treach as a respected figure and emphasized that he was not trying to discredit him, he expressed his frustration with the narrative that 2Pac always wore a vest. He challenged people to provide photographic evidence of 2Pac wearing a vest on any other occasions, aside from a specific interview with Luke, where he had just received one.
