Part 1: Antonio Brown on Growing Up in Liberty City Around Violence & Drug Selling

--------

Former NFL star Antonio Brown revealed how Miami drug dealers helped him during his high school years. The wide receiver from Liberty City admitted that despite their negative influence, these individuals often acted as surrogate parents, providing financial incentives for good grades and sports achievements. Brown said this unusual support system was the only way many children from his neighborhood saw "real money or success." However, Brown emphasized he managed to stay clear of the streets thanks to his passion for sports. Despite struggling with consistently attending school due to his family situation, he acknowledged the benefits of participating in sports, particularly football. Brown stated that his journey, including attending a smaller university, provided him with the motivation to continue striving to prove himself to the world.
