In this clip, Charles Cosby spoke about notorious drug dealer Griselda Blanco. Born in Cartagena, Colombia, in 1943, Blanco grew up in poverty in the midst of social unrest and violence, a period known as “La Valencia.” Cosby indicated that Blanco committed her first act of violence at the mere age of 11. With a group of forbidden playmates, Griselda plotted to kidnap a ten-year-old boy and hold him for ransom. Upon taking the boy to the mountains where the impoverished lived, they demanded payment from his family. When they refused, Blanco shot the boy between his eyes. Cosby added that Blanco showed no remorse for her actions, as she was prepared to do anything to secure a better life. He restated that Blanco went on to become a well-known figure in the drug trade, ultimately serving jail time.
