Charles Cosby, a former associate of the infamous 'Cocaine Queen,' Griselda Blanco, recalls how Blanco amassed her billion-dollar drug empire. After she and 37 members of her drug operation were indicted in 1975 in an operation coined "Operation Banshee." Blanco fled to Colombia, only returning to the U.S. a year later once the heat had died down. Blanco had already built up a fortune of $500 million before the indictment. However, her relocation to Miami Beach turned her into a certified billionaire, controlling a large portion of the drug trade in Miami and Brazil. Furthermore, Cosby revealed that Blanco played a critical role in mentoring Pablo Escobar, who, at the time, was a car thief. He attended the lavish parties Blanco had at her home, wherein a bust of Blanco was positioned for guests to rub for good luck.
