In a recent interview, former Major League Baseball player Darryl Strawberry acknowledged an incident in 1990 when he pointed a gun at his wife after returning home from a drunken night out. Strawberry expressed remorse, linking his abusive behavior to the traumatic relationship he had with his alcoholic and womanizing father. He added that children regularly emulate the behavior they witness at home. Strawberry discussed the erroneous public assumption that wealth and athletic fame equate with maturity, insisting these elements merely mask underlying personal issues. Strawberry also voiced his concern at the high divorce rate within the athletics community, attributing it to a lifestyle of hedonism and empty pursuits. After the aforementioned incident with his wife, Strawberry was advised to seek alcohol addiction treatment. He stressed the importance of internal change to avoid severe consequences.
