In an interview, Charles Cosby discusses the turmoil caused by Griselda Blanco following her controversial killing of her third husband, Dario. Cosby explains that Dario's association with Medellín cartels, led by Pablo Escobar, ignited a dangerous and fatal war in the Colombian drug-trafficking industry, with Griselda going against rival cartels. Cosby pointed out that Griselda's competitive edge came from her ability to control the drug-chain starting from Colombia to Miami. This control meant her competitors were unable to keep up, and it forced them to relocate to different cities. With the escalation of conflict came a $4 million bounty on Griselda's head. She eventually moved to California where she was apprehended by the DEA. In court, she was found guilty and sentenced to 35 years for conspiring to manufacture, import, and distribute cocaine in the US, despite initially bargaining for a 15-year sentence.
