In a recent interview, retired Special Operations sniper, Nicholas Irving, who served under the Bush and Obama administrations, credits Donald Trump as the president who helped veterans the most. During Trump's presidency, Irving saw significant improvements for veterans, including direct access to outside healthcare providers, with bills being covered by the VA. This access to outside treatment options was a game-changer for veterans. However, Irving noted that under the current administration, these policies became less robust. He claimed that the neglect of veteran support services is sending the system back to its old ways, where soldiers struggle to acquire necessary help and treatment. Irving criticized politicians for their rhetoric on aiding veterans, claiming it's usually hollow talk to earn votes. Overall, Irving felt that veterans are often exploited for political agendas, raising questions about wars he participated in. He hopes for improved veteran support in the future.
