In this VladTV interview from 2016, Gary Owen made his first appearance on the platform. The comedian spoke about his upbringing, noting he grew up 30 minutes outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Owen then spoke about how he came into contact with Black people, and how his upbringing and eventual shift into the world of comedy among Black comedians was shaped by an ice cream truck driver who used to come to his neighborhood.
From there, Owen spoke about White people using the n-word and how he doesn’t see why people desire to use the word.
Along with that, Owen described his interactions with police, especially as a former cop, and how some police use extra force and are simply rude just because they can be. Watch the full interview above.
