Retired professional basketball player Smush Parker expressed his disbelief upon hearing of former teammate Kobe Bryant's passing. Parker admitted to initially thinking the news was a hoax. He was at his church, where he volunteered as a security guard, when he was informed of Bryant's demise. He remembers crumbling to his knees in disbelief. Vlad also brought up the unveiling of the first of three Kobe statues. Although Parker was in town, he wasn't present at the unveiling due to limitations on the invitations.
