Former baseball player Darryl Strawberry spoke about his struggles with substance abuse that eventually led to him being cut from the Dodgers and the Giants. Strawberry shared that despite initial troubles with the Dodgers, including not showing up to games, the team made amends with him before they had to part ways. He continued to battle addiction after leaving the Dodgers and being signed by the Giants. However, he struggled to pass routine drug tests and was ultimately let go from that team as well. Strawberry credited his wife, Tracy, for helping him find a new direction in life. After his stint with the Giants, he was picked up by the Yankees, where he warns younger players about the pitfalls of fame in the big city and the importance of connecting with the right people. Despite his struggles off-field, Strawberry conveyed throughout the interview his love for the game and his appreciation for the teams that stood by him during his career.
