Kim Kardashian has been known for her work in criminal justice reform in recent years, including advocating for inmates on death row.
On Monday (February 26), Kim shared a photo of Ivan A. Cantu, a project manager from New York, along with a message about him being on death row. However, the image was of the wrong person with the same name as a death row inmate.
Ivan A. Cantu, whose picture Kim used, revealed to TMZ that he learned of Kim's gaffe from his family. This led to him releasing a message on social media to assure his loved ones that he isn't on death row.
Kim's team has since taken down the photo and replaced it with an op-ed piece detailing Ivan Cantu's case. Ivan's execution date is set for today (February 28), and Kim is asking her followers to sign a petition that will encourage the District Attorney to withdraw Ivan's execution date.
