NFL star Antonio Brown discussed the issue of brain health among players in the league and notably addressed accusations that he might have CTE, a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated blows to the head. Brown outlined the dangers associated with playing football, comparing the sport's high-risk environment to being in the army. In the world of football, players are well aware of the risks they are taking with their physical health, particularly with regard to concussions. While Brown stressed that not all players end up with brain damage, he noted that it’s a real issue the NFL has to deal with, especially considering the fact that CTE can’t be detected in living players. Brown also suggested that the NFL buys the brains of deceased players to keep the issue quiet, effectively controlling research outcomes. He urged increased focus on the overall mental health of players and better solutions for the traumas and adversities they face.
