During the trial, prosecutors argued that Washington and Jordan ambushed him at his studio on October 30, 2022, over a failed drug deal, with Jordan accused of being the triggerman.
Now, the family of Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell has spoken about the verdict. While speaking to PEOPLE, Jay's family said, “We extend our deepest gratitude to the prosecutors, law enforcement officials, and all involved in bringing these individuals to justice. Their unwavering dedication has ensured a measure of accountability for the tragic loss of Jam Master Jay.” The family noted the verdict served as an end to a “challenging journey.”
