Update 03/07/2024 11:22am:

Steve Stoute is the most recent guest to appear on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay," where he spoke about what happened between Dame Dash and Jay-Z.

Steve explained, "Dame's antics, were just, it became—people over time, you mature," 53-year-old Stoute said. "It's like you have friends at 16, but by the time you turn 19, they were still doing the same shit when you were 16. ... You start spending less and less time with them because of that."

He continued, "It's like one of those things where Dame wouldn't change. The way he spoke to people, the way he treated people. ... He was angry because he had a strong perspective about his business philosophy."

When it comes to Jay-Z, Steve explained, "Jay grew up. You know, Jay wanted more, I think Jay seen Dame's ceiling. I mean, I think that's really what it was. ... He wanted more, and everybody wanted more."

Dame has now responded to Stoute on Instagram, writing, "This is the reason I had to smack the s*** out of @stevestoute a couple years ago…because he’s always speaking on other men’s business. good thing I’ve evolved."

Shannon Sharpe recently sat down with businessman and record executive Steve Stoute, who commended Shannon for his viral interviews.

Steve brought up Shannon's interview with Damon Dash and shared his thoughts on Dash. Despite Dash's stature in the industry and his connections to top artists like Jay-Z, Stoute believes that Dame "blew it" when it comes to leveling up in his career. Stoute delved into the reasons behind the breakdown, citing Dash's inability to adapt and evolve as a key factor.

According to Stoute, Dash's stubbornness and refusal to change his communication style and business philosophy led to conflicts with his partners. As those around him sought to expand their networks and horizons, Dash remained rigid in his approach, causing tension within his circle.

Stoute highlighted Dash's ego as a major obstacle to collaboration and growth. Despite Dash's intelligence and talent, his inflated sense of self prevented others from working with him effectively. Stoute theorized that Jay-Z, one of Dash's business partners at Roc-A-Fella, recognized Dash's limitations and chose to pursue his ambitions elsewhere. You can hear more above.
