Only 24 hours after the Georgia Supreme Court's decision to overturn a murder conviction due to the prejudicial nature of a 33-second rap music video shown to jurors, Young Thug's attorney referenced this ruling to the RICO trial judge. The purpose was to provide guidance on a defense motion to exclude rap music videos and lyrics from being presented as evidence.

Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel handed a judge the entire ‘Baker v. State’ decision to give context to judge Ural Glanville on using rap lyrics and music videos during the trial.

According to Law & Crime, Steel’s argument found him saying, “Mr. Williams argued that the admission of these items without foundation that these specific lyrics, videos, words and other artistic expression violates Constitutional and Statutory provisions.”

The statement then said, “Mr. Williams again asks this Honorable Court to exclude any and all of the State’s requested evidence pursuant to the Constitutional provisions previously argued.” Stay tuned for more updates.
