Nicholas Irving, former US Army Ranger and sniper, discussed the incident involving actor Alec Baldwin on the set of "Rust," where Baldwin accidentally shot and killed a staffer due to a mix-up of live ammunition and dummy rounds. Irving was critical of the situation, stating that there should never have been live ammunition on a film set. He expressed his discomfort with someone pointing a gun at him with their finger on the trigger and suggested that the Hollywood incident may lead to new on-set procedures and considerations. He also commented on whether actors should be held liable in such situations, stating that the situation complicates things as it could potentially set a precedent for charging actors with involuntary manslaughter. However, he agreed that as an executive producer, Baldwin may bear some responsibility for ensuring set safety.
