According to a report from the US Sun, Kanye West has been banned from performing in Brazil. Sources that spoke with the outlet say the artist was “firmly denied” after requesting to perform in Rio.
Previously, it was revealed that West was forbidden from playing in areas of Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. Reports noted that West had proposed to stage a concert replicating the legendary Rolling Stones' performance on Copacabana Beach in Rio. The 2006 concert drew in more than 1.5 million fans and is one of the largest free concerts to date. Despite Kanye’s request where he expressed interest in a similar endeavor, the idea was promptly dismissed.
A Rio government source made a claim to The Sun, saying there is “absolutely no chance” of West performing in Brazil. The source said, “Nobody wants to be linked with him and his recent controversies.”
