Desiring to break this pattern, Montana and a friend developed the Cocaine City DVD series, blending stories of successful rappers with those of drug dealers. The ultimate goal of the DVDs was to demonstrate the realities of the lifestyle that many rappers described in their songs. The DVDs offered a unique platform through which Montana could promote himself, ultimately leading to wider recognition for his music.
