French Montana recently opened up about an incident in 2003 where he was shot in the back of the head. He described the incident as a "set-up," linking it to his increasing success and visibility and, at the time, continued presence in the neighborhood where he grew up. Unknown to many, the bullet went through his skull but miraculously didn't cause serious damage. The incident, however, marked a turning point in Montana's life, instilling in him a heightened sense of caution and leading to significant lifestyle changes. Namely, Montana spoke of the importance of not being too accessible as one's estate grows. He also admitted to carrying a gun and wearing a protective vest for a number of years after the incident due to the subsequent trauma and paranoia. According to Montana, one of the two individuals who targeted him was later killed.
