George Chidi offered insights into how a jail phone call between rapper Young Thug and his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, leaked online. According to Chidi, the leak was due to an individual making an Open Records Act request, as jail call visitations are considered open records. He also mentioned dramatic events of a 2013 incident, where Young Thug was named in a phone call but was never charged or arrested. Considered controversial, this information is being used in Thug’s current trial to establish his involvement in serious crime for a long time. Chidi also criticized the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for delaying and withholding evidence, which could potentially influence plea deals. Young Thug is accused of having knowledge about a car rental that was to be used in a drive-by murder. The evidence to support these claims, however, hasn't reportedly been presented yet.
