The prolonged trial of rapper Young Thug continues to face several challenges. A prominent development is the bout of security issues, both physical and digital, that have been affecting the proceedings. Various people in the courtroom have been searched for drugs or accused of giving clients access to restricted internet content. In one case, a gang criminal defense attorney was even arrested for a gang charge. On the digital front, the trial's Zoom connection was reportedly hacked at least three times, with one incident resulting in a foreign individual yelling “Free Thug” in open court. Back in January, an Eastern European ransomware gang known as Lock Bit hacked all government computers in Fulton County, reportedly owning every file in the county’s court system, including the jury list for Young Thug's trial. Despite these disruptions, George Chidi predicts Young Thug will be convicted due to compelling evidence found in his home, including a switch and drugs. The trial is expected to go on for at least another nine months.
