Comedian Aries Spears recently commented on Mike Epps's recent interview with "All the Smoke," where he confirmed that he would not be portraying Richard Pryor any longer. According to Epps, this decision was taken due to disagreements with Pryor's wife. Spears envisioned that Steve Harvey could have been a good choice to portray Pryor if he reduced his weight. However, Spears expressed that it would be challenging to find a professional comedian to impersonate Richard Pryor, and he suggested that this role might be better suited for an undiscovered talent. Spears compared the situation to a hypothetical Michael Jordan biopic, emphasizing the need to find someone who can simultaneously mirror the athlete's skill, good looks, and swagger. He suggested that Eddie Griffin was once rumored for the Pryor role but agreed with Vlad that it wouldn't work.
