Boosie discussed the murder of hip-hop icon Jam Master Jay, highlighting the unfortunate reality of some artists' need to resort to illicit activities when music revenue dries up. Two men were recently found guilty of the crime, one of them being Jay's godson. Despite being part of the platinum-selling group Run-D.M.C., Jam Master Jay's financial situation wasn't stable as he wasn't the main writer or vocalist; hence, his residuals from their music were limited. To make ends meet, he allegedly got involved in drug dealings and was associated with notorious drug supplier Southwest T from BMF. His murder was reported as a retaliation crime after a drug deal went sour. Boosie insightfully revealed the struggles faced by some rappers who find it hard to survive without their music income, forcing them into risky means of sustaining their lifestyle.
