Yung Joc ignited controversy when he was reluctant to perform for a gay audience. Joc defended his position, arguing for the right to choose his performance venues based on his personal comfort. While the rapper clarified his respect for human rights, emphasizing they should not be determined by color, preference, or sexual orientation, he also spoke about struggles that can arise when accepting venues that don't align with personal values. On the topic of Saucy Santana, another recording artist who is openly gay, approaching him over his reluctance to perform for gay audiences, Joc expressed understanding of Santana’s position but maintained that he was within his rights to decline such bookings. Joc also commented on the importance of creating safe and comfortable spaces for all people while advocating for both heterosexual and homosexual rights. He insisted that his advocacy for one group didn’t indicate any opposition to the other.
