UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal spoke openly about his rough start in life, which included backyard brawls and brushes with the law. Growing up in Miami, Masvidal was always involved in fights. He recalls being removed from multiple daycares by the age of four or five due to his fighting tendencies, which continued into his teen years. Despite his aptitude for wrestling, Masvidal's struggles with academic performance saw him removed from his high school team. His teen and early adulthood years involved sporadic homelessness, which he describes as necessary for budgeting his meager resources toward food and gear in his early professional career. Masvidal embraced this tough start as a key element of his journey, stating, "All of this was part of the process."
