Part 2: Yelawolf on Getting 'Hoodwinked' on Missy Elliott's Reality Show "The Road to Stardom"

Music artist Yelawolf recently appeared on VladTV to share his personal journey towards success. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Yelawolf moved around a lot throughout his childhood due to his mother's relationships with various music-related individuals. This early exposure to music indubitably steered him towards a career in rap. Yelawolf admitted to a rebellious adolescence stage consisting of skateboarding, drugs, and minor crime but managed to evade juvenile arrest. His interest in rap grew particularly strong between 1992 and 1993 when he began to freestyle, write verses, and attempt to emulate various rappers. Although he showcased talent from early on, he confessed to being too 'unhinged' in his late teens to seriously focus on songwriting or constructing a persona. After a failed attempt at turning fishing into a lucrative career, Yelawolf had to return home to Alabama and experience more of life before developing his unique sound and story.
