Part 1: Gary Owen on Why Drake is Allowed to Say The N-Word Despite What Kendrick Says

Comedian Gary Owen recently voiced his disapproval of J. Cole's decision to remove a diss track about Kendrick Lamar. According to Owen, J. Cole's decision to do so stemmed from him taking too much notice of negative comments online. Despite criticisms, Owen argued that no harm is being done and that it is merely a part of the rap culture to throw jibes at one another. Referencing an old-school hip-hop feud, Vlad stated that J. Cole continuously puts rappers down in his tracks and then apologizes, which seems out of sync with the industry's history and norms. He said it is a reflection of being soft, comparing it to a comedian apologizing for a roast. Owen further stressed his point by saying that it would be unimaginable for a comedian to suspend their comedic duties, responding to any backlash by saying, "I'm sorry."
