Despite lacking formal boxing experience himself, Bill decided to support and invest in his son's boxing career, leading to Devin becoming one of the biggest names in modern boxing. Bill opened a gym, aiding his son's development and later sold inherited property to finance his son's training. His dedication carried through to hiring expert trainers, paying them out-of-pocket rather than setting up long-term agreements involving future earnings, emphasizing his commitment to his son's success.
