Bill Haney expressed regret at his previous statement that he was sending his son to "kill" Ryan Garcia. Bill explains that the comment was made during promotional activities for the fight, and in hindsight, he recognizes it as going over the edge. Concerning the fight, he criticized Garcia’s failure to make weight and the resulting penalty of $1.5 million but acknowledged their decision to proceed with the match despite this. Bill conceded that the fight did not go their way, but despite the loss, he affirmed that his son, Devin, remains the world champion at 140 pounds. He also suggested the possibility of a rematch with Garcia, stating that it would depend on mutual agreement.
