Gillian White spoke candidly about her early ambitions of studying criminal justice and working in law enforcement, supported by a scholarship from the LAPD. Originally drawn to this field due to her observant nature and the inspiration from "Silence of the Lambs," Gillian's intended path was derailed when people around her voiced concerns about the danger associated with working in law enforcement. Turning instead to her minor, dramatic arts, she found her way into acting. While she reminisced about a fun encounter with the late rapper Tupac during her years at Howard University, she dismissed rumors suggesting that her husband, Michael Jai White, harbors resentment for Tupac due to a picture of them together. Gillian asserts that such rumors are merely efforts by people to validate their own pre-conceived notions, with Tupac himself actually having been a friend of Michael's.
