Comedian Aries Spears delved into his views on comedy legends and shared valuable advice he received from Chris Rock. When asked to choose between Bill Burr and George Carlin, Spears highlighted the distinct styles of the two iconic comedians. While acknowledging Carlin's extensive body of work and intelligence, Spears leaned towards Bill Burr for his raw energy and immediate humor. He pointed out that white audiences often appreciate the effort behind a performance, while Black audiences prioritize direct laughter.

Spears touched on the intelligence and craftsmanship of comedians like Dave Chappelle, drawing comparisons to Carlin. He emphasized how Chappelle's deeply intellectual approach can sometimes be seen as distant from "street-level" humor, yet it remains profoundly resonant. Reflecting on his career challenges, Spears revealed that Chris Rock once told him, "Keep writing, stay funny, and try not to piss off white folks." Despite striving to follow this advice, Spears humorously admitted that he often finds himself unable to avoid ruffling feathers.
