Charles "PeeWee" Goldsmith, a former member of the Hells Angels, shed light on the notorious motorcycle club's relationship with methamphetamine. Goldsmith, who became a prospect in 1994, discussed the initiation process and the rules that governed the biker lifestyle, including the prohibition of stealing and a strict code against disrespecting family members. Contrary to popular belief, dealing drugs was a grey area; some members engaged in it despite unofficial rules suggesting otherwise. Goldsmith revealed that meth was the drug of choice for many Hells Angels due to its ability to keep members alert on long rides. He recounted an incident where the chapter president gave him a soda laced with meth, initiating his unknowing introduction to the drug. The drug's stimulating effects proved indispensable during grueling, hours-long motorcycle rides, where staying awake was critical for safety and duty. This demanding lifestyle, coupled with the camaraderie and loyalty within the club, created a culture where meth became an essential tool for survival and reliability.
