Slim Jxmmi, half of the multi-platinum duo Rae Sremmurd, shared a raw glimpse into his challenging upbringing. Moving from California to various states due to their mom's military career, Slim Jxmmi and his brother Swae Lee finally settled in Mississippi. Life was tough, with their stepdad selling drugs, though he shielded them from that world. Describing his childhood, Slim Jxmmi recounted frequent relocations and how this instability fostered resilience and adaptability. He started rapping at ten and formed “Dem Outta State Boyz” with Swae Lee, reflecting their diverse influence. Despite juggling menial jobs and hustling, the brothers stayed committed to music, even financing their own equipment. Slim Jxmmi revealed that after their mom kicked them out, they persevered, living in a “bando” while they crafted their sound.
