Part 3: Tony Rock: Our Oldest Brother Killed Someone & Gave Me the Gun to Hide
Part 1: Tony Rock on Growing Up in Crack Era NY, Saw Drug Dealer Friend Killed in Front of Him

--------

Tony Rock disclosed the harsh reality his brother, Chris Rock, faced during his school years. Tony explained that their mother, an educator, enrolled them in a predominantly White school district in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, seeking a better education. However, this decision subjected Chris Rock to relentless racism and violence from his peers. The bullying, which spanned six years, included physical attacks initiated by White students, often incited by their older siblings and parents.

One particularly brutal incident involved Chris being kicked in the head by a classmate during a soccer game, resulting in a fractured skull and hospitalization. This consistent torment propelled him to drop out of high school after persistent disputes with their mother, who later insisted he pursue higher education. Eventually, Chris earned his GED and attended community college. Despite these adversities, Chris Rock's comedic talent was recognized by Eddie Murphy, leading to his early roles in Hollywood, including a significant part in "Beverly Hills Cop II."
