Dwight "Doc" Gooden, the former baseball superstar, faced significant legal challenges after a severe misstep in 2010. After taking four Ambien pills, he drove with his son and got into a car accident. Gooden, despite being in a confused, sleepy state, fled the scene, leading to charges including DWI with a child passenger and endangering a child's welfare. These charges put Gooden at risk of facing 20 years of imprisonment, but he ultimately received five years probation and outpatient drug treatment.

Gooden's struggles didn't end there; he faced a challenging period living in a motel and battling substance abuse during a tumultuous divorce. His turning point came through court-ordered anger management and therapy, which he credits for redirecting his life. However, in 2010, Gooden was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame, a significant honor shared with Darryl Strawberry. In 2011, he joined "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," marking yet another step in his journey toward recovery.
