Journalist Meghann Cuniff discussed the legal troubles surrounding rapper ASAP Rocky, who is accused of shooting ASAP Relli. As the October 21st trial date approaches, Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, remains steadfast in pushing for a trial, dismissing the possibility of a plea deal. Cuniff noted that despite Tacopina’s confidence, the evidence against Rocky is significant, making an acquittal challenging. A crucial piece of evidence is a blurry video allegedly showing the incident. Although the footage is unclear, it reportedly captures Rocky pointing and firing a gun at Relli. Rocky faces two counts of first-degree assault: one for pointing the gun, visibly captured on video, and another for firing it, somewhat less clearly documented. If convicted, Rocky could face up to 20 years in prison. However, given the less severe injuries sustained by Relli compared to similar cases, his actual sentence might be considerably shorter.
