Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland discussed Ja Rule's involvement during the infamous festival's fallout. McFarland, who was arrested and released on a $50,000 bail, revealed a key moment when Ja Rule's lawyer informed McFarland's attorney that Ja Rule had accepted a proffer agreement. Such an agreement allows an individual to divulge information to law enforcement without facing charges for those admissions, provided they don’t lie.

McFarland admitted his attorney warned him against contacting Ja Rule post-proffer, which would jeopardize his legal representation at a critical time. McFarland acknowledged the FBI thoroughly investigated his team, with many opting for proffer agreements. Despite this, McFarland defended Ja Rule, noting his effectiveness in the tech industry and characterizing their partnership positively. Though McFarland was the primary culprit, lying to investors about Fyre’s progress, he expressed mixed feelings about Ja Rule's culpability and occasional resentment over Ja Rule's avoidance of charges.
