Part 15: Billy McFarland on Netflix & Hulu's Fyre Fest Docs, Ja Rule Launching App Similar to Fyre
Part 1: Billy McFarland on Designing Websites for The Weeknd, Rihanna, Drake and Kanye West

--------

Billy McFarland opened up about his release from prison after serving four years for the infamous Fyre Festival fiasco. Thanks to the First Step Act signed by Donald Trump, McFarland received a surprising early release. Transitioning to a Brooklyn halfway house from a Michigan prison was surreal for McFarland, who later secured a job with a prominent music artist.

Channeling his entrepreneurial spirit, McFarland launched a new venture called PYRT, a creative marketing agency, while ambitiously planning Fyre Fest 2. He assures that this time, a professional festival production company with majority control will manage logistics to avoid past pitfalls. McFarland has already seen promising interest, with presale tickets selling out in 28 hours and notable interest in premium tickets.

Despite owing $6.8 million to the IRS and having other financial obligations, McFarland is optimistic about repaying his debts through his continued business efforts. He maintains that being allowed to work is the best path to making amends.
