Jonathan Jacob Meijer discussed his controversial role as a prolific sperm donor and revealed how he misled recipients about the number of children he has fathered. The conversation also sheds light on the Dutch landscape for sperm donation and the rise of private donor websites following stringent donor anonymity laws in the Netherlands. Meijer signed up for a site called "Longing for a Child" around 2014-2015, a platform that connected aspiring parents with sperm donors. Unlike conventional sperm banks, this website allowed for direct, more personal interactions between donors and recipients. However, despite his seemingly altruistic motives, Meijer failed to disclose the true extent of his donations to many of the women he helped, some of whom were highlighted in the Netflix documentary.
