Additionally, Meijer shed light on an elaborate sting operation where a past recipient posed as a new client to gather evidence against him, which was subsequently used to expedite a court trial. Despite the legal woes, one of the most bizarre rumors Meijer tackled was the allegation that he is “The Lion of Mombasa.” This stems from claims of European donors traveling to Kenya to provide donations at a local clinic, with some alleging Meijer was one of them. Meijer firmly denied this, stating he has never been to Mombasa.
