Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas discussed what he considers to be the best era in NBA history. Responding to a fan question, Arenas pointed to the years he played—between 2001 and 2011—as the pinnacle of NBA excellence. He said the era you fall in love with typically becomes the "golden age" for you. Arenas acknowledged the 1980s as a groundbreaking time as well, as many fans first experienced the league through TV broadcasts. For Arenas, however, the 2000s were unmatched. He emphasized the privilege of competing against legendary figures like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, and LeBron James, solidifying his view that the 2000s housed some of the greatest talents in NBA history.
