Former mobster Anthony Arillotta supported Sammy "The Bull" Gravano’s claim that the Genovese mafia was behind the infamous disappearance of labor leader Jimmy Hoffa. Arillotta dismissed the narrative from "The Irishman" as nonsense, aligning instead with Gravano's assertion. The primary conflict, according to Arillotta, was Hoffa's contentious relationship with a powerful Genovese captain Tony Provenzano. Hoffa's animosity with Provenzano, Arillotta explained, would have led the Genovese family to take extreme measures. Although not involved himself, Arillotta echoed widespread mob sentiment that Provenzano orchestrated Hoffa’s murder through his Genovese connections, speculating that Detroit facilitated the setup while Genovese hitmen executed the deed.
