Part 1: Ken Shamrock on How He Became "The World's Most Dangerous Man"
--------
UFC legend Ken Shamrock detailed how the organization has evolved from its raw, street-fight origins to the highly regulated sport it is today. "Back then, it was very much a street fight with basically no rules," Shamrock remarked, citing instances where illegal moves went unpunished. Shamrock credited the evolution of the UFC to increased organization and safety measures, emphasizing that today's fighters operate in a much more professional environment. He believes that his and Royce Gracie's grappling skills would still enable them to thrive in today's MMA landscape, particularly due to his expertise in leg locks—a skill set not widely understood or practiced in his era. Shamrock also discussed the rigorous training regimen at the Lion’s Den, his MMA team, explaining that it was designed to push fighters beyond their limits. "I wanted you to experience worse than you'll ever experience in a fight," he said, describing relentless training drills that prepared fighters for any situation.
