Hector Bravo shed light on the underground operations within prisons, including the smuggling and the reality of violence. Bravo recounted an incident where he was indirectly propositioned to involve himself in smuggling by a fellow inmate, which he fiercely rejected. He explained that drugs mainly enter prisons through inmate visitations, corrupt staff, and increasingly, drones. These drones drop contraband like dope-filled footballs, which are later retrieved by inmates. On the subject of sexual assault, Bravo offered a nuanced perspective, asserting that while incidents do occur, they are not as rampant as often depicted in media. Most sexual activities are consensual, involving gay or transgender inmates.
